Until we come to a place where we submit willingly to the Lord's commands relating to gender roles we are subject to a curse, as disobedience brings cursing just as surely as obedience brings blessing. If you're pretty comfortable with the behavior modeled in churches, chat rooms, forums and homes according to what might be the 99th percentile "Christian" standard you should take that as a sign of grave danger - you are in for a shock! It's far better to be confronted with this sooner than later, when it's going to be too late to do anything about it. What you don't know can and absolutely does hurt you. This matter of Jezebel vs Sarah is one I cannot emphasize strongly enough as being absolutely critical in this hour. The Jezebel spirit is so subtle it hijacks believers and actually makes double agents out of them, without the one hijacked even realizing it.
I dare you to read this series. I challenge you to allow the holy spirit to engage you fully in this matter. Few will, but those who do and see it through will not regret it.

I took the photo while I was living in Los Gatos. I used to walk that beautiful stretch of the coastline on occasion.

I noticed in this series, Bob, you explained how women should not speak, and it is true that women should not exert any authority that is not theirs.
ReplyDeleteBut, women are given authority to prophesy, so my question is, when should a woman speak? (the example being if she were a prophet)
And, by prophet, I refer to the office of the prophet, the same level of prophet as the Old Testament prophets.
The reason I ask, is that a prophet must speak a direct message from God to whoever God has the message for, whether it be a new believer or a president.
And, I'm a man, so no need to worry about someone breaking the rule.
But it is a good question.
Have you asked God to clarify what He meant by Paul's message to Timothy?
Simple obedience without understanding is breaking the words of Jesus, who said, "Be as lambs, but also astute as serpents."
To me, Jesus is wanting obedience in understanding.
After all, the Jewish Authorities were obedient to the letter of the law, but were ignorant to the understanding of the law.
For they followed the law by the flesh and not by the Spirit.
Not that I'm accusing you of being in that manner.
good info but you did NOT need to present it like a horror film. It made me want to turn it off. You should consider redoing it. God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
