There is a lot more involved with this discovery that spoke loudly to us so we're going to share some of this, even though it gets rather involved, because there are some of you this will also speak to. If this kind of info is TMI (too much information) for you, don't fret. We've got more biblical scenarios and signs to share, too, and we intend to continue as the Lord provides.
So, we're going to continue expanding on what was introduced in Part 4 of this series where we described how the shemitah that is number 861 in the count corresponds to the word that is number 861 (furnace) in the Hebrew alphabetical order (Strong's Concordance).
Here's the Hebrew words we introduced for the shemitah, devoured (#860) and devouring (#861).
Strong's H860: אָתוֹן Phonetic Spelling: (aw-thone') Occ. 34x
athon: a female donkey, she-ass
Strong's H861: אַתּוּן Phonetic Spelling: (at-toon') Occ. 10x
attun: a furnace
We might assign the suggestive handles of "Leah" and "female donkey" to this present shemitah 860, and "Rachel" and "Furnace" to shemitah 861.
We looked at the other occurrences of H861 (H for Hebrew - relative to G for Greek) and this was a fruitful exercise. I don't know how to communicate this better than to simply offer two examples from contexts that speak loudly to both Aaron and myself.
To his father he sent as follows: ten donkeys loaded with the best things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and sustenance for his father on the journey. ~ Genesis 45:23
He ties [his] foal to the vine, And his donkey's colt to the choice vine; He washes his garments in wine, And his robes in the blood of grapes. ~ Genesis 49:11
Now, in addition to the Hebrew, let's consider the Greek language and alphabetical numbering of the words assigned by Strong.
Strong's G860: ἁφή Phonetic Spelling: (haf-ay') Occ. 2x
haphé: a band, fastening, joint.
From the word usage you can see this is what connects bone to bone, and a female donkey (H860) is not completely dissimilar. A donkey is a domestic animal that isn't kept for milk or eggs or meat but is strictly for the utility of getting you and your stuff from here to there. The meanings of H860 and G860 encompass a linking of bone to bone and a linking of point A with point B.
With regard to shemitah 860, the same numbered Hebrew and Greek words are descriptive. There is a distinctive linking function. If every shemitah is considered as a bone they are all linked end to end. When shemitah 861 devours shemitah 860 then bone 859 will link to bone 861, and bone 860, having been consumed by bone 861, may then appear as one that serves a linking function. Likewise, shemitah 860 can be seen as a she-ass and utility that serves to convey "us and our stuff" from point A to point B.
The shemitah 860 doesn't vanish altogether, you see. Being devoured, it remains as a link that connects point A to point B, which is the 7 year "loop back" or reset back to A. We believe that some people will remember this necessary athon-haphé season and - to be sure - all of it will be perfectly retained in the accounting of the Most High God.
Now, with regard to the Hebrew and Greek words numbered 861 in the Bible word order of Strong's Concordance, there is a similar correspondence that reveals the character of this devouring shemitah numbered 861.
Strong's G861: ἀφθαρσία Phonetic Spelling: (af-thar-see'-ah) Occ. 8x
aphtharsia: indestructibility, incorruptibility; hence: immortality.
So, that's the Greek word G861 meaning, indestructibility. The same numbered Hebrew word H861 means, furnace, as you should remember from Part 4. This word was notably found all 10 times in Daniel 3, the cryptic account of shemitah 861 where the 3 men who refused to yield to demands to worship the golden image were thrown into the furnace. They were seen in the presence of a 4th (Y'shua) and, when they emerged, not even the smell of smoke was on them and they were, subsequent to that salvation, highly exalted! Examples where other Hebrew words are translated as, furnace, illustrate the principle of how a furnace is used to test people for the purpose of refining, purification and cleansing.
Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. ~ Isaiah 48:10
“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.” ~ Malachi 4:1
In the following passage we find the subject of the fire that tests and reveals each man's work. It's an illustration that informs us about the matter of salvation.
10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. ~ 1 Corinthians 3:10-15
Only what is indestructible and incorruptible remains after everything else is consumed by the fire.
Consider the usage of G861-aphtharsia in 1 Corinthians 15 where it describes the resurrection body.
50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable (G861-aphtharsia). 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable (related form: G862-aphthartos), and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable (G861-aphtharsia), and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable (G861-aphtharsia), and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. ~ 1 Corinthians 15:50-54
The perishable must put on the G861 then what will come about is this, that death itself is swallowed up in victory. The referencing of Hosea 13 and Isaiah 25 is profound. These scriptures speak of what will manifest in shemitah 861, having swallowed up this shemitah 860.
God knows how to order things and how to bear testimony. And He is faithful!
Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets. ~ Amos 3:7
Our confidence in understanding what the Lord is bringing forth continues to build.
I have expressed this insight on occasion, that time is a servant construct. It's a framework for the outworking of the Creator's plan for His creation and its redemption in this age and essential toward that which will manifest in ages to come. He made this servant construct of time and He is the Lord of time, and there is no legitimate contender for the title.
This season matters, people! Whatever is left of it, make it count. Be a wise steward. What's your wager on the time you've got left? You are already placing your bets. If you're hedging your bets, or basically gambling nothing because you are afraid to risk what you see as your valuable temporal assets, you're not going to win what's here to be won in this spiritual contest. Are you steadfastly maintaining a long term career path or a long term family path, or betting your efforts to lower your golf handicap (insert favorite diversion here) will factor in somehow? Take a hard look around. What do you really have to lose or gain, and what is your contribution in this season in the Lord's service worth? The Lord keeps perfect records, even after time will have been reset.
In closing this post I invite and encourage you to give deep consideration to where you were in 2012 and your situation at that time. Does a return to then and that shake you? Reflect on how it may come to be that you might well be oblivious about all that has happened since then, in this season of the skewed timeline of shemitah 860, appointed to be devoured. We can't say who will know what, with some memory of this "temporary" version of "the future" - but this is what I am compelled to pass on to you in this moment, a word that has served me well. Can you trust God? Can you trust him with your life, and every life? This is NOT an impersonal question but one that is deeply personal, and a point of testing. Do you trust God, for his goodness and faithfulness, to make a just accounting while being full of mercy and abundant in grace?
